This retreat isn’t just dog-friendly, it is all about your dog and the relationship that you share...
Taking place in the heart of the stunningly beautiful, Dartmoor countryside, the retreat gives you the perfect opportunity to connect with nature as well as with each other through a range of energy healing activities. We will have exclusive use of a charming country house hotel, Prince Hall, situated in the heart of Dartmoor National Park. Your dog will be allowed to roam around the grounds off-leash as you walk together. Sit together in a cosy sitting area with a glowing log fire and at meal times let them share the fresh, organic produce that the kitchen serves. I am passionate about feeding both you and your dog the best food for your bodies. As the evening draws to a close, you and your dog will share the comfort of your private room for a comfortable, peaceful nights rest. We will focus on developing the relationship you have with your dog. We will begin to heal and address physical or emotional issues that you or your dog may be experiencing through the group healing circles. I will take you on a walk (weather dependent, as is so often the case in the UK) to mystical Wistman's Wood. If the weather is too much, we will drive to a beautiful river walk where your dog can go for a refreshing, playful, enjoyable swim. The workshops and talks will help you to understand the energetic relationship you share with your dog, as well as learning how to nourish your dog in the best way possible. My clients often find that by taking part in these healing practices, both they and their dog feel the physical and emotional benefits, which is why this retreat is focussed on you and your dog.

What can I expect from the retreat?
You may already be aware of the spiritual journey you are on during this lifetime, but have you considered this concept for your dog or the effects of your journey upon your dog? I have been a healer of people and animals for over twenty years and during our time together, it is my intent to help you and your dog in as many ways as possible. From my perspective, the knowledge shared is simple, but if acted upon will have a profound effect upon both you and your dog for the better. It is my hope that you will become aware of how your energetic expression can affect your animal companion's state of well-being and this retreat will help both of you to move into a state of alignment. You will learn about energy and how you and your dog's energy fields are created and affected. We will also explore how you and your dog are undergoing a process whereby at this time both of your frequencies are being raised on Mother Earth and how you need to support both the physical and emotional bodies of both you and your dog to facilitate this process.
Meditation and healing circles
Each day there will be a guided meditation and healing circle for the whole group to support you in learning about the importance of even-mindedness for both you and your dog. I have facilitated healing circles for over ten years, including circles for you and your dog and have witnessed the profound effects that they can have on both people and their animal companion’s well-being.

Walks in nature
Dartmoor is home to many sacred and energetic spaces which makes it the perfect place for both you and your dog to connect with nature and Mother Earth. Weather permitting, I will accompany both you and your dog on a group walk to Wistman’s Wood. Mystical and beautiful, Wistman’s Wood lies on the eastern slopes of the West Dart River. She is full of twisted, ancient, dwarfed Pedunculate Oak trees, covered in lichens and mosses. The trees grow between moss-covered granite boulders, surrounded by ferns and grasses. The woodland is considered to be the last remaining prehistoric woodlands, and legend has it that the Druids would assemble within the woods to carry out their ceremonies. We will walk the open moorland to gain space and freedom from the stresses of day to day living. Wide open space, to breathe and relax in as we head in the direction of an ancient woodland with its history steeped in magic. When we arrive, there will be plenty of time to sit with the trees and the moss covered rocks. A time to slow down and connect with nature in a place that has been untouched for thousands of years. Connect with the trees and connect with the earth to allow yourself to rejuvenate with the healing forces of Mother Earth. It is here where we can sit and share tea and then walk down to the river to let the dogs paddle. If the weather is really blowing in, we will take a drive for approximately 20 minutes to a beautiful woodland river walk at Newbridge. The River Dart is the most stunning river and you and your dog will be surrounded by tall trees, rocks, grasses, ferns and maybe the odd wild pony as we walk along the river bank. It is a beautiful spot where your dogs can swim and play. We will walk to a spot where there are moss covered rocks to share our tea. Whichever walk we take, you and your dog will not be disappointed and if the weather clears on the day that you leave I can direct you to Wistman’s Wood as well.

Lasting effect
My hope for you on the retreat is that you will be inspired to live in a more conscious way. Life will become more balanced and peaceful which will create positive effects in your day to day life. As you start to feel better, you will make choices and have responses based on your new state of well-being, which will then have a direct effect on your dog for the better as well. As you and your dog begin to heal, we give thanks because we are all connected and when you and your dog live in a more conscious, balanced, peaceful way we all benefit.
What is the accommodation like?
This weekend is all about relaxing, healing and becoming more conscious to help you and your dog as you journey together. I have chosen to host the retreat at Prince Hall as I know and trust them and they are a superb dog-friendly hotel with years of experience looking after the needs of people and their dogs. You can trust that both you and your dog will be comfortable and well taken care of. All of the rooms available are double or twin and the cost of the retreat includes a room to yourself as standard. This will gift you the time and space to truly relax and enjoy some private time within the hotel as well as providing a superb, relaxing setting in which to spend the night. If you would like to share your room with a friend or partner, a discounted rate for the second person is available (see Prices below).

We have a maximum of 10 spaces available on this retreat. It is important to me to maintain an intimate group size. There are 8 rooms available at Prince Hall and for the purpose of the retreat, up to two of them can host an extra person. If you are interested in sharing a room with a friend or partner, please get in touch.
I am most passionate about serving nourishing food for both you and your dog and the exceptional team at Prince Hall strive to use as many organic products as possible and source many ingredients used in their cooking from the local area. The weekend retreat is all-inclusive of food and soft drinks including teas and coffees throughout your stay. While the retreat is a chance for you to learn how to feed yourself and your dog well, I don’t want you to feel like you have to incorporate your learning into your life immediately. As such, there will be a variety of dietary options available including meat, vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. Please get in touch if you have any questions about catering for your dietary requirements. Also, alcohol is available at an extra cost, but I do recommend to avoid drinking alcohol when taking part in healing practices as your body will be trying to expel any energy blockages and alcohol does not facilitate this, in fact it impedes the whole process. Therefore, if you have been drinking alcohol, I will have to ask you not to attend the healing circle.
As the retreat focuses on you and your dog, I have taken as much care to cater for their dietary needs as I have for yours! Your dog will be fed breakfast, a lunch snack and dinner each day made from the same fresh, natural and high-quality ingredients as the food that you will be served. Again, if your dog has any dietary requirements, please get in touch to discuss them. Of course, you are welcome to bring your own dog’s food if you prefer. The dogs’ meals will be served separately to your meals, however your dog will be able to accompany you while you eat yours in the dining room. I recommend feeding your dog either in your room or in a quiet spot away from the other dogs to avoid any potential negative territorial behaviour.
Each price per person includes a place for one dog. If you would like to bring another dog there is an extra cost of £150 to cover their food and participation in the retreat activities. Maximum of two dogs per person.
