This blog has been inspired by an experience that I had a few weeks ago. I was in town one morning on my way to the Post Office and stopped to get some cash from the cash point. I met a man from London who had moved to Axminster two years ago and was in Ashburton for a music class at the Ashburton arts centre. We both arrived at the cash point at the same time, and so I joked with him about who was to go first. He shared with me how it was so lovely to be able to engage with someone, to be able to look them in the eye and have a joke about it. He explained how in London if the same situation had occurred, people would not be looking each other in the eye, they would be fighting for the principle of who should go first and from that point, anything could be possible. I live in a small town at the foot of Dartmoor, and yes, it is certainly a contrast to London as I remember too well from my time living in West London, but aggression is relative, and it is up to each and everyone one of us to help transform the collective to one of joy, compassion, acceptance and love. With that in mind, I am going to offer 5 tips to bring more joy into your life and thus the lives of everyone.

1. Create a purposeful morning routine

When you wake up in the morning, sit in meditation for at least 5 minutes. Give thanks for your day. Smile. Do some gentle stretching. Drink some fresh, clean water and say the following over it: “I bless this water with love and light.” Do not watch the news! Do not read the paper! I appreciate you want to be informed, but unless there is some significant disaster, not much will have changed from the day before. The only things you will be reading about are the continued momentum of stories designed to bring a little more darkness to your day and life. If you have to watch the news, maybe once a week, for now, to be able to get an overview of life if you feel this is necessary. Try saying this: “I ask the light of all that is to guide me, protect me, inspire me and teach me today. May my day be filled with love and light, and I am open to receiving all the good in my life.”

2. Channel your anger into something creative.

If you bump into someone that makes you feel angry, I want you to do your best to create an inner smile and an inner song that will help you move past and say to yourself, “I am not going to use you as my excuse for being angry”. Focus on anything that can bring you joy—and I mean anything—from an image of a flower to your dream holiday, to a loved one, or a funny film, anything to help you shift from the engagement you just had. Anger is pent up emotion. It is the blowing up of the volcano when she finally blows her lid. Pressure needs time to build up. You need to address your feelings all day every day for you to be able to navigate through your life and not allow the pressure to build.

3. Take some time to be by yourself

Taking time to be by yourself is super important as it helps you to make a connection with all that you are. To be by yourself allows you to have a conversation with yourself, to tune in to how you are feeling and to work out what is important to you. Taking time to be by yourself eliminates the energy of others who maybe continuously affecting your energy field. Being by yourself allows you to review your life to work out if you are moving in the direction of spirit to fulfil your journey here on Earth. What do you need to let go of that would best serve your life? What do you need more of in your life? Taking time for yourself is precious, and it is essential to have some of this time every day.

4. Take some time to be in nature.

Taking time to be out in nature is one of the most important things you can do. The energy of natural space can help clear your energy field of negativity as well as connecting you to the whole loving, nurturing energetic power field of Mother Earth. Take time to walk, breathe and relax as you walk within the energy of nature. Its effects are profound and beautiful and more than anything it takes you away from all the distractions of modern day life. It is best not to talk about it; it is best to go and do it! So have a wonderful time out in nature and maybe let me know where you found your piece of beauty.

5. Take some time to be without television or radio.

The television and radio may be able to bring you some joy, but connecting to it all day every day is not going to serve you and the dreams you want to manifest here in the physical. Many radio stations play the same music over and over again and have done so for many years. When people listen to nostalgic music, their consciousness is taken on a trip to the past, and it is from here that you will find it difficult to move forward. As well, radio programmes love to talk about what is wrong, and it will not help to keep your frequency levels elevated. It would be better to either sing in the car or play some music that keeps you at ease and in a state of balance. Or you could listen to some inspirational cd’s. Television can also be a disrupter of energy. Everything you are watching affects you. Drama, terror, despair, sadness are all aspects that are broadcasted into your energy systems. So when it is time to view the TV, please be super vigilant of the effects it is having upon you. It is best to choose something that makes you smile or laugh or inspires you. Either way, it is best not to be plugged into the TV and Radio all day every day. When you start to walk on the higher side of life, the whole world starts to shine a little brighter. X
